Christmas Cheer with Digital Camembear

13 December 2021

As Christmas gets closer schools and nurseries are enjoying all the fantastic resources on the new members portal for DIGITAL Camembear

Here at Camembear HQ we are excited to receive lots of fantastic feedback from happy teachers and children alike and wanted to share some festive cheer with you all.

Camembear will be celebrating Christmas in France this year.
Traditionally the tree is not decorated until Christmas Eve and a festive meal is eaten on both the eve of December 24th ("le réveillon de Noël") and lunchtime on the 25th ("le repas de Noël").
A traditional festive meal in France will have oysters, smoked salmon, "foie gras" , a turkey with chestnuts, cheeses and the famous yule log ("la bûche de Noël")Many also eat "des papillotes" at Christmas time. These are chocolate wrapped sweets often containing a joke and sometimes a banger just like our crackers.

Traditionally children in France leave their slippers or shoes under the tree. If they have been good "le père Noël" will leave presents inside for them to find on Christmas Eve or Day.

Do please keep sharing your Camembear Christmas countdown stories with us.
